Dr. Talha Ijaz is a Non-Invasive Cardiologist with extensive clinical and research expertise in cardiovascular disease, vascular biology, and aortic disorders. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible in Cardiovascular Disease.
Dr. Ijaz earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Centre College, where he graduated magna cum laude and received multiple awards for academic excellence. He went on to earn both his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University, followed by a fellowships in cardiovascular research and cardiovascular disease.
His research has focused on the molecular mechanisms of aortic aneurysm and atherosclerosis, leading to numerous peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Circulation Research, Cell Reports, Journal of Thoracic Disease, and Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology. He has received prestigious awards, including the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award and NIH T32 Scholar designation for training in academic cardiology.
Dedicated to advancing patient care, Dr. Ijaz integrates his scientific background with clinical practice, offering comprehensive evaluation and management of cardiovascular disease. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, and American Heart Association.
Fluent in English, Urdu, and Punjabi, Dr. Ijaz values building strong connections with patients from diverse backgrounds. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with family and engaging in his community.
