Dr. Martin Siegfried was born in Philadelphia, PA. He received his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University. He earned his M.D./Ph.D. from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiology at Emory University Hospital.
Dr. Siegfried is Board-Certified in cardiovascular disease, and provides 23 years of experience in a private practice. He has practiced in cardiology in Georgia for his entire professional life and has published numerous articles on coronary blood flow, shock, and heart attack prevention. Dr. Siegfried treats patients with his expertise in cardiac ultrasound, cardiac nuclear stress testing, and transesophageal ultrasound.
Dr. Siegfried’s approach to heart care focuses on a combination of diet, exercise, and judicious medication use. He believes this approach can vastly improve lifestyle, outcomes, and, in some cases, longevity for nearly all patients. He prefers to educate his patients about their cardiac conditions, as understanding the disease process provides a sense of control and results in better outcomes.
Dr. Siegfried resides in Gainesville, GA, with Tina, his wife, and two of his three children, Fletcher, and Grant. His daughter is married and lives in Atlanta with her husband and their son. He enjoys exercising, Boy Scouts, and spending time with his family. “I’m happily married for 30 years with three grown children, a grandchild, a granddog, and a strong history of heart disease in my own family; that helps me empathize with my patients. We share the same concerns. I try to “practice what I preach” and exercise daily. I love to eat, cook, and garden. Our family is what Southerners somewhat lovingly call “damn Yankees” but we call Georgia our adopted home. We love being outdoors, attending our church (Christ the King) in Braselton, GA, and being taught by the 4-5-year-olds each month.”
Dr. Siegfried cares for patients in our Lawrenceville, Duluth, Dacula, and Buford offices.
DID YOU KNOW?
Dr. Siegfried’s family has visited Disneyworld more than 20 times, hiked in New Mexico, and sailed the Florida Keys with the Boy Scouts.
