MEET THE DOCTORS
Markus Porkert
Dr. Markus Porkert is a general cardiologist who has been practicing in Gwinnett since 2006. Dr. Porkert completed his MD degrees at Emory University where he was a member of the Medical Honor Society AOA. He completed a residency in internal medicine at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas and a fellowship in cardiology at Emory University.
He started practice with the Cardiovascular Group in Lawrenceville in 2006. In 2012 he joined the Piedmont Heart Institute to lead up their Snellville office and became director of cardiology at Eastside Medical Center. In August 2015 he joined the partnership between Eastside Medical Center and Gwinnett Medical Group practicing in Snellville and Loganville.
Dr. Porkert is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He enjoys seeing patients with any cardiac condition from preventative care to more complicated cases of coronary and peripheral arterial disease and heart failure. He has expertise in interpreting transthoracic echocardiograms and nuclear stress tests and performing transesophageal echocardiograms. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Society of Echocardiography.
